What to Pack in Your Pickleball Bag
COURT NOTES
By the Courtier Editorial Team
A good pickleball bag keeps the essentials easy to reach without turning every social game into a packing exercise. The trick is giving each item a place and leaving a little room for the things that change with the weather.
The court-day essentials
- One or two paddles in a protected compartment
- A few pickleballs for warm-ups or casual games
- A water bottle
- A small towel
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for outdoor play
- Spare grip tape or an overgrip
Keep shoes separate
Court shoes collect dust, grit and moisture. A separate shoe compartment keeps them away from clean clothing, towels and personal items, while also making it easier to unpack when you get home.
Useful extras that earn their space
A lightweight layer, tissues, a small first-aid pouch and a snack can make a long session more comfortable. If you carry keys, a phone or jewellery, use a small secure pocket so they do not disappear beneath larger items.
A quick packing routine
- Place paddles in their dedicated section.
- Load shoes into the separate shoe compartment.
- Put your water bottle upright in an external pocket.
- Keep valuables together in a zipped pocket.
- Add weather-dependent extras last.
Choose a bag that matches your actual game
Most social players need thoughtful organisation, not tournament-sized bulk. A right-sized duffel can carry the essentials while remaining easy to lift, place in the car and take into the clubhouse.
